A very nice example of the classic Coleman 242A Made in USA lantern, believed to date to approximately 1935 (no date stamp present). The mixing chamber casting is marked 3000. Has the bayonet pump with slots/pin. Collar is marked No242A
The fount is free of dents with only minor surface scratching to the right of the pump and below the filler cap — overall a very clean.
Features the sunrise Pyrex globe with faded but still visible markings. The vent shows some light chipping in spots but remains structurally sound and presentable.
This lantern pumps up easily and holds pressure well. Air passes through the generator correctly, and the tip cleaner functions as designed — stopping airflow when raised to the up position. Note: The tip cleaner lever is stiff and turns with some resistance; it may benefit from replacement in the near future.
