The valve stem packing has not been replaced - a new one is included with this valve.

Using This Valve on a 242B or 242C

The valve assembly will work on Coleman 242B and 242C lanterns, but the valve wheels are different. The wheel on a 200-series valve can be removed, while the original 242 valve wheel is not removable.

This means you cannot transfer your original 242 valve wheel to this assembly. If you do not mind using the 200-style valve wheel, this valve will work on the 242B and 242C.
