Not Available

$135.00

Vintage WWII U.S. military M-1942 MOD mountain stove manufactured by Prentiss Wabers, dated 1/1945 (PW-1-45 stamping). Includes the 1945 U.S.-marked cooking/storage can.

This stove was acquired from the previous owner who stated it functioned well. Fuel was removed for long-term storage. The pump operates smoothly and the fount holds pressure as expected. The valve turns freely with good feel. Can hear pressure passing through the vaporizer when the valve is turned on. The small side valve that usually has a wood knob on the end has been replaced with something that seems to work well and feels solid. The main valve wheel shows signs of wear and two of the tips are shorter than they should be - see photos.

It includes the clip holding a spare vaporizer inside. The folding legs and pot support work as they should.

These compact gasoline stoves were issued for use in cold weather mountain operations during WWII. They are known for reliability when properly maintained.

Condition notes: Stored dry for years. Shows appropriate age and patina for a 1945 military item. No major damage noted. We have not test fired this stove.

Comes as a set: stove + original can.
